Thank you to all of our LERT volunteers! More than 20 volunteers have already totaled more than 250 hours of time working to assist others. Sites have included flood damage, sandbagging,
downed trees, and general debris cleanup. Our new tractor and trailer have been used on local sites as well as in Tampa and Sarasota.
Florida Georgia Lutheran Early Response has been the coordinating organization for projects involving our LCMS church family. Relief sites have been set up in Tampa, Sarasota, Valdosta, GA and Augusta, GA. Our national LCMS Disaster Response ministry has supplied grants to churches and individuals throughout the
paths of both Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton.
Please watch for our next LERT training and consider how you can assist with disaster recovery. Volunteers are needed for debris cleanup, flood cleanup, food preparation, prayer and emotional support for survivors, data entry, and managers. Financial donations are
always needed to cover response expenses and equipment purchases or maintenance.
