St. Luke’s Lutheran Church and School Family Service Weekend – Options for Service Thank you for considering participation in St. Luke’s Family Service Weekend! Below you will find details on the different service opportunities we will be participating in. Once you’ve made your choice just complete the form to register your participation. Questions?   • United Against Poverty
 
    • Friday, March 13th 5:00 – 8:00 pm: There will be different service projects for families to choose from. Pizza will be served and arts and crafts activities will be available for younger children.
      • Transportation to and from St. Luke’s will be provided on our school bus leaving at 4:15 pm.
    • Saturday, March 14th 8:30 am – 12:00 pm: Volunteers can serve in the:
      • Member grocery share program cleaning, stocking, and organizing shelves.
      • Emergency food pantry taking inventory and restocking items.
      • Member marketplace sorting through donated items and organizing them.
 
  • Southeastern Food Bank    Ocoee High School 1925 Ocoee Crown Point Pkwy
 
    • Friday, March 13th 7:30 pm.
    • Saturday, March 14th 8:00 am.
    • Setting up, separating, and organizing food; sorting and packing boxes.
 
  • Canterbury Retreat & Conference Center 1601 Alafaya Trail, Oviedo, FL 32765
 
    • Saturday, March 14th 8:00 am.
    • Cleaning the grounds of the conference center at the entrance on Alafaya Trail.
    • Bring work gloves.
 
  • Redeeming Life Maternity and Transitional Homes Park at Lutheran  Church of the Redeemer 2525 South Oak Ave. Sanford 32773
 
    • Saturday, March 14th 9:00 am.
    • Bring hedge clippers, hoes, shovels, buckets, and paper towels.
    • Washing windows, baseboards, and patio furniture.
    • Weeding flower beds and planting new flowers.
    • Trimming bushes.
 
  • Serving at homes of ACTS of Hope supported families
 
    • Names and addresses will be provided to those who sign up to help.
    • Home #1: in Oviedo
      • Rake leaves, trim palms, haul yard debris
      • Tools needed: rakes, tree trimmer, work gloves, trash bags, garbage cans, truck to haul.
    • Home #2: in Winter Springs
      • Weeding, trimming trees, trimming palms, fence repair, pressure wash driveway, hauling yard debris.
      • Tools needed: rakes, tree trimmer, work gloves, trash bags, garbage cans, nails and hammers for fence, pressure washer is provided, truck to haul.
