We are thankful for all of our middle school students and teachers who served in our community on Service Day 2025! Here’s where they served and a few pictures:

  • Lutheran Haven
  • Hope Helps
  • Go Baby Go
  • United Against Poverty
  • Second Harvest Food Bank
  • Pre & Upper School
  • Phil’s Friends
The group of students that served at the Lutheran Haven went to Assisted Living, Memory Care, and made chalk drawings on the sidewalks for the residents to enjoy. We spoke with a delightful 8th grader named Sebastian, who served at The Lutheran Haven for his Service Day.  Sebastian liked being with the residents so much, he’d like to go back and spend more time with them.

Students decorate bags for Hope Helps, who will fill the bags with necessities and provide to children that need them over Spring and Summer school breaks.

Below, Go Baby Go, a mobility initiative at UCF spent a few hours with students building a car for a young child. Then the family brings the child and they try out the car for the first time, get to be independently mobile for the first time!  We think it’s a pretty cool project.

Below the Second Harvest Food Bank Team makes Snack Packs at their Warehouse and Distribution Center in Orlando.

Students at United Against Poverty (UPS) cleaned, organized, stocked the shelves, and rang up customers on the cash register! We caught up with Cole, an 8th grader, who worked  the cash register and he enjoyed helping out in the community.  We know you will continue to be a blessing in your community as you start your next chapter in high school!

Time was also spent reading with preschoolers, tying blankets for Phil’s Friends who look after cancer patients, maintaining our Outdoor Classroom, and serving at The FLGA District Lutheran School Music Festival.

O come let us sing unto the Lord
Let us make a joyful noise to the Rock of our salvation.
Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving;
And make a joyful noise unto Him with psalms.

We are thankful for all of you. Thank you for your service!
