This July our High School Youth (HSY) traveled to New Orleans, Louisiana to be with 20,000 other youth from the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS) at the National Youth Gathering (NYG). NYG is hosted every three years in a different US city. Here’s the scoop on favorite moments from this special, anticipated event….

Rubber duckies from another church who was seated below us and throwing them up. It was fun to see where they were from!

Day 2 pictures of us walking to the convention center in the heat! Some other fun pictures from this day are students checking out the exhibition hall,  photo opportunities, getting freebies, stopping for a rest, and karaoke!

Day 3, we worked on service projects including cleaning up trash, painting, and cleaning up graffiti!

We got to worship together!  We did a lot of hands-up praising for the band Rend Collective, and did the motions and knew them for the song ‘My Lighthouse!’

All of the pictures in the hot pink shirts are from the morning we explored NOLA. We tried beignets, walked around Bourbon street, and visited the St. Louis Cathedral.

Beignets at Cafe Du Monde!!

Please prayer for our youth with this Prayer Guide.

Save the date for the next LCMS National Youth Gathering (NYG) in San Antonio, TX, from July 3-8, 2028. It is a week-long event with over 20,000 high school-age youth participating in worship, Bible study, & service.
