The National Youth Gathering was an impactful experience for many of the youth of St. Luke’s. Michael shared with us that he intended to travel to Houston and spend a week goofing off with his friends, but what he experienced was vastly different. God is a lot bigger than he had ever realized. From one session to the next Michael began to think more and more that he needed to change the course of his life to follow God’s plan for him, and not his own desires. In a conversation at the end of the trip Michael confessed that he believes that the work of God is becoming more important in his life than anything he has experienced. He has committed to spend time in God’s word every day to learn His will, and asked to be held accountable by his mentors. This is just one of many ways that God awakened the hearts of our young men and women on the trip to the National Youth Gathering.
