Ash Wednesday marks the official start of Lent. This year during the season of Lent, St. Luke’s is exploring “The Power of the Cross” and what that means for us as Christians. We hope you’ll join us in person, or online, for our midweek services, starting March 6th, Ash Wednesday. The services will be every Wednesday during Lent at 8:40 am and 7:00 pm. Come out as we learn more about the Power of the Cross together.

We sing the praise of Him who died, Of Him who died upon the cross.

The sinner’s hope let all deride; For this we count the world but loss.

Inscribed upon the cross we see in shining letters, “God is love.”

He bears our sins upon the tree; he brings us mercy from above.

The cross! It takes our guilt away; it holds the fainting spirit up;

It cheers with hope the gloomy day and sweetens ev’ry bitter cup.

Use this verse from Galatians 6:14 be your focus during this Lenten season.

“May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.”

Our Morning LWML Group will also be hosting an Ash Wednesday dinner, March 6th from 5:30-7:00 in our Founders’ Hall. Come and enjoy dinner featuring homemade Chicken Tetrazzini! Proceeds will benefit the Seminary Food Pantry.
