Usually, the grave is a place of mourning and sorrow, grief and loss.  But Jesus’ resurrection changes everything.  The tomb is empty!  He is risen!  Victory is his, and he shares his victory with us!  In him, we too have a new life before us.  We are set free from our sin to live transformed lives of freedom, joy, sacrifice, and renewal – today!  And we are given the amazing promise of our own victorious resurrection when he returns and puts the whole world right!

Sunday, April 20th – Victory of Resurrection. The journey to the tomb was filled with darkness, grief, mourning, and loss.  But winning changes everything! And the greatest victory the world has ever known has just been revealed!  Death could not contain our victorious Savior!  We return from the empty tomb changed forever.

Sunday, May 4th – Victory Together.  All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.  Since the fall, we all share a desperate need for salvation. That salvation was won for us through the work of our victorious Savior on the cross. Because of his amazing grace, he shares that victory with us.  We celebrate this together as a close community of followers.  Victory shared with one another transforms our daily lives.

Sunday, May 11th – Victory Over Conflict – We are all too aware of conflict in our lives. Jesus knew conflict as well. The pharisees wanted to stone him because they believed his claim of unity with the Father was blasphemous. How do you respond to conflict? Victory over Conflict can be found through resolution and by seeking unity, even without uniformity.

Sunday, May 18th – Victory Forever. In this life, victory is temporary. Winning an election only lasts for a term. Winning a national championship lasts only until the next season begins. And there can be only one winning competitor or team. The Victory from the Tomb is far different, and far better. The shared victory of Jesus is ultimate, complete, and everlasting!

Sunday, May 25th – Victory from Troubles. The troubles of this world can certainly be overwhelming at times. We can get ourselves into trouble by our own words or actions, or even by our lack of words or actions. Trouble can find us by the words and actions of those around us. And when they all pile together, we can be left feeling overwhelmed and beaten down. But our Savior reminds us that he has overcome every trouble that this life can throw at us, even death itself. If he is for us, who can be against us? He has overcome the world!

Sunday, June 1st – Words of Victory. Jesus has shared many words with his disciples, some of which were understood, and some that left them scratching their heads in confusion. But no confusion was left when he opened their minds so they could understand. Jesus’ Words of Victory of the life saving Gospel are recorded for us in his Word, and the Holy Spirit has been sent to give us a spirit of understanding. How will Jesus’ Words of Victory move you to grow in your discipleship and your witness?
