THE GOD OF GENESIS: Judah Bears the Blame

It’s not my fault! We usually want to dodge guilt whenever we get the chance. We saw Judah do it with his sister-in-law and with Joseph. But now Judah bears the blame. He doesn’t say it’s not my fault. He says I will step up and if I fail I will bear the guilt. Of course Judah’s ancestor Jesus would truly bear the guilt for us so that we could step up like Joseph.

OCTOBER 22 | ST. LUKE’S VETERANS | 1p-3p, Haven Harbor Building Assisted Living Facility | A representative from the Seminole County Veterans Service Officer will be available to assist veterans with questions and obtaining VA benefits. Join us.

Veterans Fellowship: On the second Thursday of each month at 3p, veterans living at The Haven gather in the Pub at the Harbor Building for a beer, conversation, and fellowship. All veterans from St. Luke’s are welcome to join us!

OCTOBER 24 | LERT WORKDAY | 8a (General area: Goldenrod Rd & Highway 50) | Please join us to clean out a house. This will involve removing carpeting and other flooring, broken furniture, etc. Participants should be ready for heavy lifting and a very dirty environment. Masks and gloves will need to be worn during work. Brooms, crowbars, screwdrivers, etc., may be handy. The clean-up site address will be provided before the event. NOVEMBER 7 | ANNUAL HYMNFEST | 4p, 2525 S. Oak Avenue, Sanford  | Join us for the 12th Annual HymnFest at Lutheran Church of the Redeemer! This year’s theme is “Let There Be Light.” David Ludwig, Jr. will lead us in worship with familiar hymns and newer arrangements, joined by a choir from area Lutheran churches. Wine and chili supper follows. All are welcome!
