“Legend” refers to our own record and reputation in the world, where “legacy” refers to the impact we have for the kingdom of God. People who are concerned with their “legend” are likely focused on glorifying themselves, putting themselves in the record books, winning the applause of others. But a person pursuing “legacy” will be focused on influencing others in positive ways.

INAUGURAL ORGAN CONCERT | Friday, September 5th | 7p | St. Luke’s Lutheran Church would like to invite you to a special Dedicatory Concert of our new Walker Organ. Experience the superb skill of Bradley Hunter Welch. Dr. Welch is the resident organist of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. The concert is free and seating is open. Organ music is always best acoustically if you are present.  But if you can’t make it, you can watch it on our Youtube channel.

4:12 CHILDREN’S MINISTRY | Tuesday, September 7th | 12p | MR 1 & 2 | Introducing our new K-5th grade youth ministry! Join us for a short Parent Meeting, where we’ll reveal all the exciting details about this ministry, our vision, and how your child can get involved. Kickoff Event: September 21st. FAMILY JUNIOR CONFIRMATION | Classes start Sunday, September 7th, 9-10:30a & Wednesday, September 10th, 7-8:30p | Both in Mtg. Room 1 & 2 | This class (2 Sessions: 6wks in the Fall and 6wks in the Spring) is designed for students to explore and affirm the faith they previously received at baptism. Students in 7-8th grades, with their families, will be led through an experiential learning process covering God’s Word and Lutheran doctrine. Confirmation is formatted to give families the tools to take what is learned in class back home for an in depth conversation and encouragement that will impact their faith for a lifetime.
