THE GOD OF GENESIS: God’s Blesses The Leftovers

Growing up, I always wanted the first pick, because I knew that if my brother got the first pick he would take the best. Abraham is the patriarch. He is in the position of power. He took Lot on this journey with him. He has every right to take the first pick, but he lets Lot have it, and decides that he will live with the leftovers. What does God do? He blesses Abram’s leftovers.

THIS WEEK AT ST LUKE’S

LATVIA MISSION TRIP RECAP What an incredible week in Latvia! Our team had the opportunity to build new friendships, engage in meaningful conversations, and share God’s love with teenagers and young adults. Throughout the week, campers explored how God’s Word speaks into their everyday relationships, and we witnessed many meaningful moments of faith and connection.

Our young leaders served with compassion, grew in their own faith, and embraced every opportunity to make a difference. While a few team members battled stomach illnesses along the way, God’s faithfulness carried the team through each day with joy and purpose. And yes… Pastor Scott enjoyed some friendly basketball competition!

Thank you to everyone who supported this mission through your prayers, encouragement, and generosity. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve, and we pray that the seeds planted this week will continue to grow in the hearts of those we met.

Join us on Sunday, July 26, as we celebrate his installation during all Sunday worship services. We invite you to be part of this special day as we pray for God’s guidance and blessings on Dallas as he begins serving in this new role.

• Main Event: Saturday, August 1

Whether you can help before the event or on the big day, there’s a place for you! Every volunteer plays an important role in helping local students start the school year with confidence. Signup TODAY!

• Pre-Event Setup: Help organize school supplies, hygiene items, socks, and underwear, assist with event setup, and load or unload supplies.
• Event Day: Welcome and guide families through the event, distribute school supplies and essential items, direct parking, or help families carry supplies to their vehicles.
