SUMMER OF GENEROSITY: Loving Generously. Jesus clearly warns that there will be a cost for those who follow him; those who walk the path he walked should expect to encounter the opposition he encountered. Are we willing to pay the price if following Jesus in loving generously leads us into persecution? And if we discover that the world finds us perfectly unobjectionable, is it possible that we’re not following Jesus as fully as we should?

EXPLORATIONS: NEW MEMBER CLASS | Begins Wednesday, August 20th | 6:30p | Cafe | Explorations Class provides a welcoming space to explore the foundations of the Christian faith and what it means to be part of the church community. It’s an opportunity for individuals to reflect on where they are in their spiritual journey, ask questions about Christianity and life at St. Luke’s, and build meaningful connections with others along the way. AFTERNOON DIVINE SERVICE | Thursday, August 28th | 1:30p | Chapel | This service allows participants to remain in their seats, offers communion, and is followed by light refreshments. Join us!

3 YEAR OLD MILESTONE CLASS | Classes: August 27th, September 3rd & 10th | 6:30-7:30p | Mtg Room 3 | Blessing Event: Sunday, September 14th, 9:30a Generations Worship in Founders’ Hall | In this class, parents will learn how to talk about God and matters of the faith with their child, create an environment that invites God to be constantly present, and how to pray more effectively with their little one. Participants meet for one hour on three consecutive Wednesday evenings followed by a Sunday morning worship service blessing event. Childcare is available. 

FAMILY JUNIOR CONFIRMATION | Orientation September 3rd, 7p in Mtg. Room 1 & 2 (First year families only) | Classes start Sunday, September 7th | 9-10:30a & Wednesday, September 10th | 7-8:30p | Both in Mtg. Room 1 & 2 | This class (2 Sessions: 6wks in the Fall and 6wks in the Spring) is designed for students to explore and affirm the faith they previously received at baptism. Students in 7-8th grades, with their families, will be led through an experiential learning process covering God’s Word and Lutheran doctrine. Confirmation is formatted to give families the tools to take what is learned in class back home for an in depth conversation and encouragement that will impact their faith for a lifetime.
