Summertime at St. Luke’s provides many opportunities to participate in. From our school summer camps, to VBS, to mission trips, and to gathering items for donations. During the summer break, we partner with HOPE Helps by collecting food and school supply donations. Check out how we’ve supported the Summer 2019 Kids of HOPE program!

Summer 2019 Kids of HOPE Food Collection

Each summer, Kids of HOPE provides lunches for children who receive lunch at school through the Free and Reduced Lunch program. Many of these children prepare the meals on their own, so we find ready made food items very helpful. With your generosity, we can be sure local students in need have enough to eat over the summer break so they are ready to embrace the next school year healthy and strong and have every opportunity to learn and grow.

Here’s a breakdown of what money amounts can provide:

$1,000 – will feed a family of three children for a year
325 dollars will feed one child for a year
$   100 – will feed one child for a month
$     25 –  feed one child for a week

Summer 2019 Kids of Hope Back to School Bash

Back to School Bash

Please join us in supporting HOPE Helps’ 11th Annual Back to School Bash event. Local children in need will receive school supplies, backpacks, clothing, toiletries, and many other resources to ensure that they can begin their school year fully prepared. We are collecting new backpacks, highlighters, glue sticks, folders, rulers, teen/adult socks, teen/adult underwear and gift cards to Target, Walmart or office supply stores. Donations can be left in the white collection bins here at St. Luke’s at the exits through July 29, 2019. Please contact Laura at iamlaurahall@gmail.com with any questions. You can also volunteer for HOPE’s back to school bash! Visit HopeHelps.org to volunteer for this event.
